You’ve probably noticed by now that we dedicate this whole project to two things: resonance and authenticity. Below you’ll find some of the practical details of what that actually means (spoiler: it’s not always tidy).
Not a Retreat Center
Sure, you might retreat here, but calling Resonancia a “retreat center” would be like calling your grandma’s kitchen a Michelin restaurant. Retreat centers usually aim to meet client expectations, with staff smoothing out every wrinkle and creating a polished bubble of comfort.
Resonancia is different. We’re more like a real-life experiment where participants co-create daily life. Services are minimal, fees are low, and even the chores can become surprisingly connecting. You won’t fall out of a pink bubble back into harsh “real life” — instead, you might leave carrying a green seed of a different way of living (and maybe some mud on your shoes).
Laboratory
We call our nature-playground Valle de Sensaciones an Ecovillage Laboratory. Not because we wear lab coats (though we’d look fabulous), but because this place is designed for communal exploration. It’s also an experiment in itself — no ready-made roadmap, no copy-paste formula. Just humans, nature, and a lot of trial and error.
As a core team we show up as people, with gifts, shadows, and occasional meltdowns. We try to balance offering direction with leaving space for organic co-creation, taking responsibility with accepting imperfection, and leadership with letting go of control. Sometimes it’s brilliant, sometimes it’s messy, and both are part of the magic. You’re invited to bring your wisdom, quirks, and medicine into this adventure.
Chaos in the Eye of the Beholder
Our environment was built with love, creativity, and lots of mud. Natural buildings are beautiful, but they also weather, wobble, and occasionally leak. Temple equipment gets used in the middle of nature, which is great for vibes but not for maintenance schedules. And with our resident artist Achim forever chasing wild projects, you may find enchanting beauty right next to a dusty cushion or a hammer left behind.
Here, everyone is invited to care for the spaces. But in the end, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people drift in awe for weeks, discovering wonders everywhere. A few take one look, turn back, and vanish. Honestly, it’s a pretty good filter ;-) Those who stay long enough to drop expectations almost always leave with deep appreciation.
Disclaimer: The photos on our site capture inspired moments. Reality may include fewer people, more chaos, or the same hammock in a slightly different state.
Embracing the Change
Our photo gallery reflects the full year: big groups, tiny circles, blissful naked summers, elemental winter fires, and hot-tub nights under the stars. Of course, not all of that happens at once. Sometimes it’s spacious and quiet, sometimes it’s dense and celebratory. The rhythm is unpredictable and people arrive or leave spontaneously. That’s part of the charm.
If you need specific conditions, tell us and we’ll guide you toward the right moment. But remember: welcoming the unpredictable is half the magic of Resonancia.
Co-creation vs. Facilitation
Beyond programmed events, we’re not here to entertain you. Coliving and Ecovillage Lab periods are about authentic communal life, not 24/7 workshops. Participants are invited to create their own experience: start an activity, share a song, embrace boredom, or discover that “empty space” is actually where your inner voice gets loud enough to be heard.
We as a team also live this freedom. We join as equals — sometimes contributing, sometimes resonating, sometimes disappearing for our own time. Outside programmed events, please don’t expect constant guidance. Expect real people. If you want facilitation, join one of our events. Otherwise, welcome to the free zone.
Here, the frame is simple: no right, no wrong, no judgment. Everyone will have the experience that’s right for them — euphoric at times, challenging at others. The key is not to blame it on external factors (like “why didn’t someone make this easy for me?”) but to embrace the growth it brings. We welcome people who are ready to dive into that.
We trust in each person’s ability to self-reflect, self-regulate, and grow. Together, we weave a living field of freedom, truth, and connection — beautifully imperfect, and real.
We look forward to welcoming you
— in full authenticity.
Welcome.
