The Valle de Sensaciones Association has been around for more than 15 years - which in community years is basically forever. It runs the “Valle de Sensaciones” Ecovillage Laboratory as a non-profit playground focused on living together, hugging trees (with consent), and unleashing creativity in the wild.
Over time, we realized something obvious: to keep the camp alive and buzzing, we need humans who stick around long enough to remember where the broom lives, take on responsibilities, and bring consistent presence. The catch? The camp itself is not great for long-term living (mud roofs and compost toilets lose their charm after month 7), and the nearby village of Yátor has roughly zero rental housing.
So, with the same spirit that fuels the camp, we came up with a plan: a privately based community housing project in the village. Enter the Coliving “Casa de Resonancia” — a stable home base for those who want to join community life without sleeping in a clay dome forever.
This coliving is managed privately (yes, with spreadsheets and all), giving us an economic base for housing investment while also helping the association’s projects run smoother.
Functional Differences
At the Ecovillage Laboratory, the association organizes temporary events, facilitation, and structured experiences. It’s non-profit, member-based, and occasionally looks like a festival that forgot to sell tickets.
At Casa de Resonancia, on the other hand, nothing is pre-packaged. Daily life — from cooking together to conflict resolution to rituals under the moon — is co-created by residents. The magic comes from having a group of people who actually know how to do community, talk about feelings, and survive without drama (most of the time).
Why Separation Is Important
For the boring but crucial legal reasons, we need to keep the two projects clearly apart:
- The camp is managed only by the Association, on a non-profit basis.
- The Coliving project is private and based on real-world investments (like buying beds and fixing roofs).
- No mixing bookings or payments — sorry, no two-for-one deals here.
What This Means for You
In daily life the projects blend and support each other, but legally we ask you to keep this in mind:
- Joining Valle de Sensaciones is always through the Association.
- Booking Casa de Resonancia happens privately, through the coliving.
- Payments go separately to each — keep your euros organized.
Both projects share the same vision and heart. But for them to grow sustainably, they need their own clear structures (just like every good relationship).
